What Are ERCES BDA Systems in Arkansas?

An Emergency Responder Communication Enhancement System (ERCES), also commonly referred to as an Emergency Responder Radio Communication System (ERRCS), is designed to improve public-safety radio coverage inside buildings where construction materials, building size, below-grade areas, or other conditions can weaken radio signals.

A properly designed system can use a rooftop donor antenna to receive the public-safety radio signal, a Bi-Directional Amplifier (BDA) to enhance that signal, and a Distributed Antenna System (DAS) to distribute radio coverage throughout required areas of the building.
